Remember Usain Bolt in Beijing?

“So I went out there and gave it my all, and left everything on that track.”

So said Usain Bolt yesterday after his victory in the 200m sprint in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Once again, I’ve been impressed by the utter commitment the Olympians have shown… Particularly the GB Cycling team whose collective focus on their goal of winning Gold medals has resulted in an unprecedented achievement at this year’s Olympics. Peter Keen sums it up when he says ‘Success isn’t a right – you have to strive for it’. And the British cyclists have certainly done that.

I congratulate them on their success.

And I feel inspired to sharpen my focus on the goals which matter.
